Free

Run past the shadowed spires
Of dark, tangled trees.
As His radiant stallion,
Run ahead; bolt free!
Run with trembling legs afire,
Pound on brittle leaves;
Till heavy hooves step upon
Flowing, flowered greens
Run to the Supreme Sire,
Where freedom is known.
Run, run, run relentlessly,
Until you reach home.

Eclectic Essence

These poems are a small sample taken from my chapbook titled "Eclectic Essence". Years 2004-2005.

It's been years since I've read these older poems. Most of them need revisions, especially Beaver Builder's! It's a mess! For instance, Randy becomes Jacob toward the poem's end. I see multiple errors. This is the result of rushing an assignment (College Creative Writing Course), that's overdue, and not proof reading 📚. However, the last line with "Dam" instead of "Damn" was an intentional play of words. :-)
